Rugby Coaching

I started rugby coaching when my son started playing tag rugby at Under8’s. How hard could it be…

I gained a massive amount of respect for primary school teachers overnight.

4 years on I coach 8 hours a week at different groups

Windmill Primary School, Oxford
There are over 50 children coming to after school clubs. Windmill are the only primary school in Oxford that plays contact rugby and we have fixtures against the local private schools. We’ve taken teams that have played rugby on the hallowed grass at Twickenham, half time games at the Kassam Stadium and tournaments at Wasps.

Cheney High School, Oxford
Now a parent of a child at Cheney I am working with the staff to get rugby established , I’m employed by the RFU to help some staff improve their coaching skills and to help get children to play at the local rugby club.

Oxford Harlequins Minis and Juniors
The biggest rugby club in Oxford with an average of 30 boys per age group. I’m the club coaching co-ordinator and mainly coach the Under12’s. We have moved up through the years with the New Rules of Play and we like to play an open style of flowing rugby.

Lynn Evans and Pierre Villepreux

I met Lynn Evans on my RFU Level 2 Coaching Course, Lynn has known Pierre for over 30 years. In the summer of 2014 I attended Pierre’s coaching course in Lubersac, France.

I’m looking to develop and improve as a coach, I love 7’s and dream of coaching a team at the highest level one day.
