Fat Loss Coaching

Since I stopped growing around the age of 19 I’ve always been a little bit overweight and sometimes quite a lot overweight. Even though I’ve competed at elite levels in both rugby and rowing. My weight has ranged between 14 stone 7 (203 lbs) to an all time high of 18st 4 lbs (256 lbs) that was a good holiday!

No one could ever describe me as being lean until May 2008.

What happened firstly I decided to run the hardest marathon in the UK, 6000f t of up and down over 26 miles. Instead of putting loads of miles in I figured that my training would be better served if I focused on loosing some weight as an extra fat was not the ideal thing to be carting up 6000 feet of hill. I was relatively successfully coming down from 16 stone to approximately 15 stone 4, I can tell you I was glad I wasn’t carrying that extra weight.

A month or so after that I met up with a client Matt Lovell who happens to be the Sports Nutritionist for the England Rugby Team. As we were talking he said that he was going to lose a few pounds of weight before he went on holiday. I asked what he was going to do, he explained and I said I’d do it with him.

I then said why don’t we document what we are doing and then we can then promote it as a weight loss system. Well it worked and I lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks see the before and after video below.

At 39 now I’m in the best shape of my life and the leanest since I was 17 years old. I could possibly lose another 6-10 lbs if I was wanting to model for a magazine cover, but my cauliflower ears and scars from rugby have put paid to that though
